When Todd first started out in the photography industry, he worked as a photojournalist. His assignments took him all over the world, including the grasslands of Africa and South America, as well as the cities and countrysides of Europe and Asia.
At the beginning of the 1990s, he moved his base of operations to New York City and began working with Rolling Stone photographer Mark Seliger.
After that, Todd opened his own photography studio and began photographing people from all walks of life and capturing their various experiences, including those of cultural icons, rock stars, titans of industry, great creative minds, and emerging entrepreneurs.
Because of his passion for storytelling, moving from editorial photography to portraiture was a natural progression for him, and the resulting work brilliantly captures the subjects he photographs. His photographs of events have a powerful way of conveying a sense of place and experience.
