The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Ltd Board of Directors has recognized the contributions of certain company leaders by naming restaurants and bars in their honor. In recognition of Zec's dedication to providing memorable experiences for hotel guests and patrons, Z Bar was named in her honor. Maria, who is originally from northwest Indiana, considers Chicago to be her hometown, but she is also an avid traveler who has visited many countries around the world. Zec's traveling companions are her husband Bob and, on occasion, her two pugs, Duchess and Tulip, who are both devoted to her. From its perch on the edge of Chicago's Michigan Avenue, this is a jet-haven, setter's where inventive cocktails, menus, and music take center stage.
