Wish Well House

When Katy and Justin took over a portion of their family business and transformed the event rental company into Sweet Sunday Events in 2009, they were involved in the Austin wedding industry for the first time. Sweet Sunday Event Rentals and Resources swiftly established itself as a top supplier for wedding planning, floral design, and event rentals in Central Texas. As a full-service design firm, Katy and Justin received press coverage in a variety of national and regional publications, including Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, The Knot, and a plethora of others. As the company expanded, Katy went to courses taught by some of the top designers in the nation and started her own floral design company, Without Wax, Katy. Through it, Katy gained widespread acclaim as a top designer, not just in Austin and Central Texas but also across the entire State, planning weddings for brides and grooms there as well. However, Katy and Justin always had bigger plans in mind. They wanted to build the wedding site they had looked for but couldn't locate when they first got married years earlier. A contemporary, industrial warehouse atmosphere that wasn't present at the time in Austin or Central Texas. A place you could enter where the architecture and surroundings did the most of the job for you. Something distinctively industrial, yet soft, delicate, and romantic enough to provide an intimate setting for a wedding. As luck would have it, Justin happened to pass a building with a for sale by owner sign nailed into the lawn one day when he was out making an event delivery to the nearby university in Georgetown, Southwestern. He thought it was cool because it was close to the famous Square and immediately called Katy, saying, "You might think I'm crazy but..." The Union on Eighth, the region's first industrial arena, was thereafter established. Nine years later, Katy and Justin were prepared to bring new life to another historic property. The Wish Well House was introduced in August 2021, and the rest is history.
