Valentine

Valentine is Marvimon's most opulent venue, with a 9,000-square-foot site plan ideal for private gatherings, patio weddings, receptions, exhibitions, and theatrical plays. Valentine's crew provides experienced, professional site management, as well as a commercial kitchen for client-selected catering teams, and the venue is fully equipped. The building has been a hotel, a brothel, a fish and oyster enterprise, and a commercial location for everything from glass blowing to marijuana production in its century of use. It was originally erected in the 1920s in an area that has long served as the city's seafood market east of Downtown. This enigmatic past influenced their re-invention of space in subtle ways. Valentine is located on Fourth Street in downtown Los Angeles, immediately across the street from Flora Chang and around the corner from Millwick. The venue's blue front (which you'll find on many buildings in the burgeoning North Sea area) and striking greenhouse roof line, which it shares with the nearby Grass Room, a sister space connected to Valentine's main structure, are unassuming from the outside. It's close to the restaurants, boutique hotels, cafes, and nightclubs that make downtown Los Angeles the most interesting spot in the city. Valentine's greatest asset as an event space is its adaptability: whether you want a small gathering of less than 100 people or a large reception with up to 500 people, you can do both in this modular, adaptable venue, and the experience will seem appropriate and comfortable. Valentine may be coupled with Grass Room, connected by a concealed passageway, to host up to 750 guests if you are organizing an even larger scale event or simply need more rooms for programming.
