University of Maryland Memorial Chapel

Make a reservation at The Chapel. Memorial Chapel is open to anybody, regardless of their affiliation with the University, and anyone can book a space there. The Memorial Chapel is an excellent venue for a variety of events such as concerts, seminars, meetings, convocations, graduations, and everything in between. Spaces Available for Rent Memorial Chapel has four rentable spaces available for use: Main Chapel The Main Chapel, which has a white interior with burgundy accents, can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. A total of four sets of pews are available on the ground level, in addition to balcony seats on three sides. The Moller Pipe Organ, as well as a Baldwin grand piano, may be seen in the Main Chapel of the University. You can choose from a variety of altar pieces (in both metal and wood), as well as a lectern, microphones, and a large number of tables and chairs. Garden Chapel With red brick walls and rustic wood beams, this is a charming site. The Garden Chapel is surrounded on all sides by a lovely Garden of Reflection and Remembrance, which can be seen through the enormous arched windows in the chapel. The venue has a maximum capacity of 100 people, with around 90 people seated comfortably. The Garden Chapel is outfitted with a Disklavier grand piano that includes a variety of musical possibilities built in. We have an assortment of altarpieces (both metal and wood) for you to pick from, in addition to a lectern and a number of different tables. There is no need for a sound system in this location, but it is available upon request. Lounge A comfortable, informal environment with seats and sofas that can accommodate roughly 25 people, with stacking chairs that can accommodate a maximum of 30 individuals. This venue is ideal for a casual gathering or get-together. In the Lounge, you are permitted to consume food and beverages. Conferencing Space There is seating for 18 individuals in this formal conference room. It is equipped with a flat-screen television, laptop HDMI connection cables, and wireless internet. During departmental board or committee meetings, as well as for reporting or presenting, the Conference Room provides a formal setting for discussion.
