Tujague's restaurant has been in operation long before the city of New Orleans was given its name, and it formerly functioned as a Spanish arsenal. It has weathered decades of war, depression, fire, and plague to continue a history of culinary quality that has not been lessened. Tujague's is the second-oldest restaurant in New Orleans, the origin of brunch, and the site of the country's oldest stand-up bar. But, above all, Tujague's is a local restaurant, located in America's oldest neighborhood—the French Quarter—that caters to the needs of its neighbors.
