Located in the heart of the Connecticut Gold Coast, the award-winning Meadowlands at the Darien Community Association is a one-of-a-kind venue for your magical day. Bring the Outside In From our gorgeous formal gardens and lush lawns to an intimate secret garden and plenty of spots for photos, the Meadowlands allows you and your guests to enjoy the outdoors in a comfortable and beautiful setting. Designed by one of the premier landscape architects of the early twentieth century, Ellen Biddle Shipman, the formal gardens are intimate by design and create the magical moment you have imagined. Maintained by volunteers from the DCA Greenhouse Group, the Garden Club of Darien and private vendors, the gardens are the heart of our estate. From the McKitterick Room to the Garden Wing and the Bridal Suite, every room has a view of the beautiful gardens where your guests will gather awaiting your moment. Historic Light-Filled Home With over 15 spaces and eight acres to bring your vision to life, natural light glows within the Meadowland’s spacious rooms, tall ceilings, large windows and beautiful wood floors and in the outdoor spaces. As part of The 203 Project: A Sustainable Showhouse at the DCA, our rooms have been newly decorated by professional interior designers, fully air-conditioned and all look out into the garden. The property has a sweeping front lawn that is fabulous for family and bridal party photos, and a secret garden is perfect for the first look. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Meadowlands at the DCA is a 15,000 square foot, Regency-style estate on over eight acres of property. The facilities include a spacious Garden Wing with attached commercial kitchen, boardroom and intimate library, and rooms which look out to its formal garden. The property also includes a working Lord & Burnham greenhouse (original to the estate), and a four-acre bird sanctuary and nature trail.
