The Mazant, a historic mansion in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and approximately 1.5 miles from the French Quarter - boasts more than 5,000 square feet of living and event space, as well as a third acre of landscaped gardens (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and The Music Box are all within walking distance. Families, wedding parties, company retreats, and other large groups will find it to be an excellent choice. On-site weddings and wedding-related events are hosted by the Mazant Hotel. We regularly host smaller (less than 50 people) gatherings throughout the year, and we also accept requests for a small number of larger (up to 200 guests) gatherings on a limited basis on an as-available basis basis. The cost of all weekend events is a three-night minimum buyout of the entire property (approximately $6,500), plus an additional fee based on the number of guests and type of event, which can range between $500 and $7,500 depending on the event. During your stay, you will have exclusive use of the main house and grounds, and the fee will cover standard cleaning, taxes, and service fees - as well as vendor load in and load out, as well as use of our Bose professional-grade sound system. Equipment rental, catering, chairs and tables (beyond what is already on the premises for resident guests), and other similar expenses are not included. As a result, we require that all guests hosting events on our property purchase event liability insurance as well as contract with a security vendor who has been approved by us (see below for more details). Please review our policies before making a reservation. In the center of a triple lot, the house has a corner yard (under an oak tree) to one side and a private, fenced yard to the other. The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The two yards are linked together by a central hallway that runs through the center of the house and connects them. Some groups choose to hold part of the event (such as the ceremony) in one yard and the other part of the event (such as the reception) in another yard, but depending on the size of your group, you may be able to hold both the reception and the ceremony in the same location. There is a large gate in the non-cottage yard that can be opened to provide easy access for a food truck.
