The Lotos Club

Our beautiful Clubhouse is in every way a home. It was painstakingly repaired after being built in 1900 as a wedding gift for Maria Vanderbilt Shepard and William Jay Schieffelin. Guests and members alike appreciate the environment, which is ageless but not excessive; ideally exquisite yet welcoming. Our staff is kind and helpful, but never overbearing. The Lotos Club's elegant rooms can host a variety of corporate and social events, including an intimate dinner party for eight, a joyous wedding celebration for one hundred guests, and cocktails for 160. Seasonal menus suited to your preferences and event are available from our acclaimed cuisine. Our staff is available to assist you with every aspect, including menus, flowers, and music, so you can rest and enjoy your special day. The elite Grill Room features an Old World/New World ambiance, with classic state dinner menus honoring people who have achieved excellence throughout history at The Lotos Club. The Grill Room can seat up to 75 people for a sit-down dinner and up to 90 people for standing celebrations. The Grill Room can accommodate up to 25 people at one table for an intimate wine meal. Wedding ceremonies, talks, and receptions for up to 75 people are held in the Tennyson Room. It can also accommodate dinner parties of up to 40 people. The Ballroom can accommodate up to 100 guests for wedding receptions, meetings, lectures, and seated lunches. Wedding receptions, cocktail receptions, concerts and talks, as well as seated lunches for up to 50 guests, are all possible at the Library. The Wedgewood Suite is reserved for smaller, more intimate occasions. The Wedgwood Suite consists of the formal 17' x 22' Wedgwood Parlor, which can accommodate up to 20 people for drinks, and the beautiful 18' x 24' Wedgwood Dining Room, which can accommodate up to 30 people for supper. The Directors' Room, located across from the Wedgwood Suite, can seat 30 people for business meetings and 16 people for lunch and dinner. Please note that all private events at The Lotos Club must be sponsored by a member of the Club.
