The Fieldhouse at Old School Square

This 1926 construction (previously known as the Vintage Gymnasium) was renovated to maintain its original charm. The hefty wood beams, which appear to be frozen in time, still contain the markings of students who ventured to climb up and scrawl their names in chalk. The Fieldhouse was originally a separate structure that was linked to the Crest Theatre's backstage section during renovation. The original backboards are still in place, even though the Fieldhouse is no longer used for athletic activities. The loft, which previously housed bleacher seating for the "away" teams, now serves as a place to sit or showcase items. The former locker rooms have been transformed into luxurious restrooms. The Fieldhouse has become a popular location for private and community gatherings, as well as other creative endeavors. Old School Square offers a unique, historic setting for any occasion — from weddings, receptions, birthdays, reunions and mitzvahs… to corporate events, banquets and seminars. The 323-seat Crest Theatre, which is surrounded by six classrooms, the Ocean Breeze Room, which can be used for receptions or smaller seminars, and The Fieldhouse (formerly known as the Vintage Gym), which is popular for wedding receptions, trade shows, art/craft shows, parties, and themed corporate events, are just a few of the beautifully restored spaces. Ocean Breeze Room & Fieldhouse & Frances Bourque Library, Lettie McNeill Music Room, Classrooms: Broadway, musicals, cabaret, comedy, dance, family events, talks, and concerts are all performed at Old School Square. The Crest Theatre, Fieldhouse, and the Pavilion are all used for events.
