Special Events are defined as any temporary or ongoing activity that occurs on public (or possibly private) property that has an impact on the ordinary use of parks, public streets, right-of-ways (sidewalks), traffic and/or generates significant public participation and/or affects the ordinary use of public transportation, as well as any activity that occurs on private property. Parades, service projects, road races, photo shoots, and large group gatherings in parks or other public places are just a few examples of the types of activities you can participate in with your organization. Block parties are held in neighborhoods and are typically held on a city street that has been closed to vehicular traffic. The holding of gatherings with fewer than 100 people, as well as gatherings that are expected to have a negative impact on parks or other public places, is prohibited. It is prohibited to hold gatherings of more than 100 people, as well as to have a significant impact on a park or public place.
