In recent years, Derrick Pipkin has gained widespread recognition throughout Southern California for his work in the entertainment industry, particularly for his massively successful Party In Palm Springs extravaganza and annual Mother's Day Jazz Festival. After years of successfully combining business and entertainment, Derrick has recently added the title of restaurateur to his long list of accomplishments and is looking forward to the future. Since the summer 2010 opening of PIPS on La Brea, the PIPS experience has continued to impress foodies and music lovers alike, thanks to Live Jazz on a newly-renovated patio. Luis Carrizo is a Master Chef who has worked all over the world. Chef Luis Carrizo, of Salvat, Argentina, was introduced to South American, Argentinean, and Mediterranean cuisine by his parents, who were born in Spain. Argentina and Brazil were the final destinations for his professional training and culinary education. Following graduation, he worked his way up the ranks to become the Executive Chef for Events at the Hotel Turista in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the prestigious Hyatt Hotel in Santiago, Chile, among other places. Luis Carrizo Salvat traveled to the United States in the late 1990s to further his professional and personal interests in cooking. He accepted the position of Executive Chef at Minotaure Tapas Restaurant & Wine Bar in Playa Del Rey, California, which is well-known for being a fine-dining Spanish restaurant with a Mediterranean influence. In addition to serving as a consultant for numerous restaurant openings, Chef Luis Carrizo Salvat continues to develop menus for businesses such as Farmer's Grove and California City Market. The success of his own catering business, "Flavors of the World," in Woodland Hills has led to the formation of another.
