Museum of Photographic Arts

No general admission fee is required to visit the Museum of Photographic Arts (MOPA), which is located in historic Balboa Park, and visitors are encouraged to make a donation in lieu of paying admission. MOPA is made accessible to everyone through this voluntary contribution policy, which is based on how much one wishes to contribute. The parking lots along Space Theater Way are available for patrons, and on-street parking is available along Park Blvd. Because parking can be difficult during peak hours or during events, additional parking lots are strategically placed throughout Balboa Park to accommodate visitors. From the parking lots to various points throughout Balboa Park, a free tram service is available from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with extended hours during the summer months, with extended hours during the winter months. MFA (Museum of Fine Arts in Photography) The Museum of Photographic Arts, located in the heart of Balboa Park, provides a picture-perfect setting for visitors to enjoy exclusive access to world-renowned photography as well as the Park's historic splendor. The atrium of the Museum is designed in a minimalist style, with dramatic ceilings, skylights, and terrazo flooring throughout.
