When you get married at the Morrison-Clark Hotel, which is conveniently located in the heart of Washington, DC, you can take advantage of its rich history, great gastronomy, and impeccable service standards to create the wedding of your dreams. The Morrison-Clark opened its doors in 1987 following a restoration effort overseen by William Adair (who was also in charge of the White House's repairs) of two Victorian town houses erected in 1864 by the Morrison and Clark families and held by the Morrison and Clark families. The Soldiers, Sailors, and Marine Club was established in 1930 by the Women's Army and Navy League, who purchased the town homes and converted them into a military housing facility for military personnel passing through the nation's capital. Although the Club was known for hosting silver teas and Sunday coffee, it was also a popular gathering place for high society women such as First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady Admiral Dewey, and First Lady Calvin Coolidge, among others. In 2013, the hotel launched an extension project to integrate the adjoining Parsonage and Chinese Community Church into its premises, as well as an 18th Century Carriage House, thus enriching the rich heritage present inside our walls.
