Being Jewish is the foundation upon which the Moise Safra Center was built. It is not only an identity into which we are born; rather, it is a heritage that we should be proud of and treasure. The Center is dedicated to fostering Jewish ideals and fostering an unwavering love for the state of Israel. Both tzedakah and chesed play an essential role in the accomplishment of our purpose. By working together, we are able to bolster not just ourselves but also the Jewish people. When we talk about community at the Moise Safra Center, we talk about the past, the present, and the future. Both in terms of tradition and culture. Belonging and giving. A place of refuge that is secure, kind, and caring. In the years to come, we will continue to grow closer to one another as we celebrate important family milestones, go to and cheer at local sporting events, congregate at lectures and programs, and give our time to help others who are less fortunate. The study of Hebrew and the Torah, as well as Jewish values and beliefs, will be included into all of our regular programming and one-off events. Sephardim and Ashkenazim, who have historically prospered in their separate settings, will come together, therefore creating a fresh, inventive, and modern dialogue that will stretch and empower us. This conversation enlightens us, makes our lives more meaningful, strengthens our connections with one another, and fosters the growth of a community that is unparalleled in New York City.
