Malahat Spirits

The distillery of Malahat Spirits provides a one-of-a-kind environment for a memorable celebration. Malahat is unlike any other event venue in the city. Malahat Spirits is a throwback to the days of Prohibition-era speakeasies. The area is authentic, complete with period items. Malahat offers unique cocktail mixes and tastings of their award-winning rums and whiskeys as part of their catering services. To manufacture the finest spirits, they search out rare ingredients, mix ancient procedures with experimentation, and handcraft everything from scratch. Make a reservation for a private event in our distillery and tasting room, such as a birthday, wedding, reunion, celebration, or work. Even during tasting room hours, we can provide private experiences for groups of 6 or more. During Prohibition, the Malahat was known as the "Queen of Rum Row," a five-masted schooner that brought the finest alcohol to Southern California. We commissioned two copper pot stills to help us realize our idea. The huge dual column copper pot still was custom built to fit inside the production facility's skylight, which was the only place in the distillery tall enough to accommodate the towering copper columns. A smaller "experimental" copper still was created for small batches of research and development in order to develop our unique recipes.
