The legendary San Jacinto Inn, founded in 1917 as a small family-operated restaurant, was Ford’s favorite place to eat when he was a boy. Sadly, the Inn closed its doors in 1987. Thirty years later, Ford had a hankering for the Inn’s oysters and chicken dinners. So he recreated the recipe —— with his own special tweaks, of course —— and it was delicious.
