Inn At The Old Silk Mill

The Inn At The Old Silk Mill is located in the heart of Fredericksburg's historic downtown. The Inn, which was built in the 1930s, was one of the largest motor lodges on the east coast at the time. The Inn exudes a relaxed elegance that is infused with a sense of nostalgia for a bygone period. There are 27 antique-appointed bed and breakfast rooms, each with its own private bath, making the Inn an excellent choice for a romantic weekend away, wedding reception, corporate retreat, or any other occasion. A warm greeting awaits guests in the foyer, which features a magnificent staircase and chandelier (which is thought to have formerly belonged to the George Mason family). It also serves as a fantastic photo opportunity. During the winter months, our guests can warm themselves by the fireplace in the lobby, which also includes a parlor area with a player piano, coffee, tea, and cookies for their enjoyment. During the warmer months, the Courtyard, which is located between the Inn and the Mill, is a wonderful area to sit and unwind. Enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee in our on-site Copper Shop, where our local coppersmith, Al Green, handcrafts his popular and patented "Fredericksburg Lantern," which can be purchased. Every day, a hot, freshly prepared continental breakfast is provided at no charge. The courtyard, which is straight out the back doors of the Inn and leads to the Silk Mill, is a great place for outdoor seating. The Inn is an ideal location for romantic vacations, girls weekends, family or military reunions, church and business retreats, and even a small private wedding ceremony and reception.
