About Harlem Parish
MADE IN 1897 AND COMPLETELY RE-IMAGINED IN 2017. ONE OF THE MOST ELEGANT AND INTIMATE SPACES IN NEW YORK CITY. A CURRENT FACILITY IN A SPACE THAT IS MORE THAN 100 YEARS OLD Take a look at everything that Harlem has to offer! The parish was founded in 1889 to serve a diverse range of immigrant groups that have changed over time. The current church building was constructed in 1907 to the designs of Thomas H. Poole & Company and dedicated the following year. The interior was renowned for its magnificent fan vaulting and celebrated German stained glass, among other features (from the still operating studio of Mayer of Munich, famed stained glass makers for the Holy See and Catholic churches around the world). "This church has no name, but its finely detailed neo-Gothic façade, which is prominently entered through an arcaded porch, demands attention," according to the AIA Guide to New York City.
