Hampton Park

Numerous events take place in Hampton park all year round. Numerous Frisbee games, weddings, and family reunions are just a few of the many different events that take place in this park. Students from The Citadel who reside close to the park frequent the physical activity trail. The park is a miniature arboretum, home to a wide variety of unique Lowcountry-adapted plants and shrubs. One of the few parks in the City of Charleston with parking on-site and facilities. One of the biggest parks in the City of Charleston is Hampton Park. Of all the parks in the city, it features the most extensive floral displays. The workers and volunteers who look after the park have planted an antique rose collection and seasonal decorations. An audio walking tour called Layers of the Landscape, an initiative of the Charleston Horticultural Society, recently recorded the rich history of this neighborhood park, so stop by to tour the venue and hear its history!
