Originally designed by world-famous architect John Russel Pope and based on the French Petit Trianon at Versailles, Glen Manor was quite unique to the area. The landscaping was designed by the Olmsted Brothers — sons of Frederick Law Olmsted. Glen Manor was built as a summer retreat for the Taylor family, whose family wealth came from banking, railroads, mining, steel, and coal. The home was completed in 1923 and lived in by a member of the Taylor family until 1959. Glen Manor House is the perfect historic setting for a romantic, dreamlike wedding or important occasion.
