About Flagler Museum

It was declared by the New York Herald that Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age house in Palm Beach, was "more marvelous than any palace in Europe, larger and more spectacular than any other private dwelling in the world" when it was finished in 1902. Now that it has been designated as a National Historic Landmark, Whitehall has been re-opened to the public as the Flagler Museum, where guided tours, rotating exhibitions, and special activities are available. Whitehall, Henry Flagler's historic mansion built in 1902, is a National Historic Landmark that serves as the Flagler Museum, which is available to the public. Henry Flagler's Gilded Age house near Palm Beach, known as Whitehall, was acclaimed as "more marvelous than any palace in Europe, larger and more spectacular than any other private dwelling in the world" by the New York Times in 1902. Whitehall is now designated as a National Historic Landmark. Some categories of membership at the Flagler Museum are entitled to attend events at the museum (Individual or Corporate). In addition to Whitehall, which was built in 1902 on the beaches of Lake Worth in Palm Beach, the Museum's grounds includes Henry Morrison Flagler's summer residence, which was completed in 1902. It has been thoroughly repaired and is now climate-controlled, making it a National Historic Landmark. Building the Flagler Kenan Pavilion in 2005 to house Flagler's private Railcar No. 91 was a major accomplishment for the company. There are panoramic views of Lake Worth and the West Palm Beach skyline from the Pavilion, which is designed to seem like a turn-of-the-century railway mansion.
