With exhibits that relay the current and historical achievements of the men and women involved in revolutionizing the aerospace industry with an emphasis on the contributions of those associated with American Airlines, the Museum has created a platform that illustrates the science behind flight and space exploration; infuses science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education through entertainment throughout the galleries; and inspires the next generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians. History comes to life at the Museum, as do scientific principles that are readily comprehended. It is a superb illustration of why museums have emerged as one of the most successful methods of offering informal education, particularly to kids in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. A powerful social environment for learning and support for schools and teachers as they strive to meet the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) curriculum. Through hands-on, activity-based exhibits and programs, museums have been shown to spur creativity and innovation as well as improve empirical thinking, communication skills, and literacy in students of all ages.
