We invite you to take advantage of our many optional event enhancements, such as an astronaut guest speaker, live science demos, or even a customized diver greeting from inside our 188,000 gallon aquarium, to help you achieve the best formula for success. From an intimate setting for 40 to an extravaganza for 4,000, at the California Science Center, you’ll find an exceptional space to host your next event! Our list of preferred catering and beverage partners is available upon request. Pre-approved outside catering and/or bar service is allowed with an applicable surcharge.

What is included in the venue rental cost?
Our rental fee includes complimentary usage & set-up of our limited, basic in-house furniture, all venue staffing necessary to facilitate your event, a dedicated Event Manager to help plan & execute your event, basic utilities, & access to permanent exhibits within your rented event space.
Is there a venue coordinator available to help with event logistics?
Once contracted, you will be introduced to a dedicated Event Manager who will assist you from planning through execution and will be on-site the day of your event day to assist with all venue needs.
Does the venue have on-site A/V equipment?
Yes. Our basic packages can help avoid excessive cost and stress by providing in-house resources for your simple A/V needs. Please contact us for further conversation to determine if our packages are sufficient to meet your event needs.
Does the venue have an approved or preferred vendor list?
Our Preferred Catering list is comprised of skilled caterers who provide a lovely diversity of food & beverage options & price points. Our licensed & insured partners have excellent knowledge of our policies & trusted experience working in our event spaces.
Does the venue allow Outside Catering?
While our robust Preferred Caterers represent a wide range in offerings, we understand you may have your own partners or specialty cuisine in mind. Outside Caterers who fulfill Science Center requirements can be brought in for an additional surcharge. All catering must be full-service, no drop-offs.
