About Borsari Gallery
Sea Captain Uriah Howe originally built the Barn that now houses the Borsari Gallery in the early 1800s. The barn's first purpose was to serve as a commercial abattoir for Cape Cod and its environs. The Crowell family held the Sea Captain's home and abattoir for for a century, until it was purchased by Cape Cod local artist David Grose in 1960 and utilized to showcase his work. Bob and Kathy Borsari bought the property in 2008 and undertook a three-year renovation that was both elaborate and historically appropriate. The post and beam construction was lovingly restored to its original New England rustic elegance. The original pumpkin pine flooring was exposed, the century-old "ice box" was used, and the historic 1800s track & pulley system that was employed on the property when it was an operating abattoir was displayed.
