Please assist us in assisting everyone by practicing social distancing while you are dining with us. Keep yourself safe. Have a good time. Craft beer is recommended. WHEN BLUEJACKET WAS DESIGNED, IT WAS WITHOUT BOUNDARIES IN MIND, ALLOWING BEER DIRECTOR GREG ENGERT AND HIS TEAM OF BREWERS TO CREATE BEERS THAT COVER THE WIDEST RANGE OF STYLES AND FLAVORS POSSIBLE. Understanding and respect for the traditions and techniques of classic brewing coexist at Blue Jacket with a spirit of constant experimentation, innovation, and collaboration that results in delectable beers that highlight seasonality, culinary inspiration, and historical interpretation. BEER RANGE FROM INTENSELY FLAVORED TO SUBTLY NUANCED; BEERS THAT OFFER SOMETHING DISTINCTIVE AND SATISFYING FOR EVERY PALATE AND EVERY PLATE; AND BEERS THAT REFLECT EQUALLY THE PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE OF GENUINE CRAFT BREWING VERY SOON, THE BREWERY WILL BEGIN SHIPPING BEER TO CAREFULLY SELECTED RESTAURANTS, BARS, AND RETAIL OUTLETS ACROSS THE REGIONAL AREA. In the restaurant and bar, there is a constantly rotating selection of twenty BlueJacket beers and five BlueJacket cask ales, all of which are poured at the appropriate temperature and are available only on-site; the majority of the beers and cask ales are only available on-site. Executive Chef Marcelle Afram oversees the kitchen, which refines and expands on the classic fare found in beer halls and public houses while showcasing the freshest, most locally sourced products available in the area. In the same way that the brewery itself is distinctive, the space that BLUEJACKET occupies is as well. It is one of only a few genuine industrial buildings still standing in Washington, DC. The building, known as the BOILERMAKER SHOPS, was built in 1919 as a part of the Navy Yards Ship and Munitions Manufacturing Complex, and it is one of the few true industrial buildings still standing in the nation's capital. WHEN WE ADD A NEW, VERY DIFFERENT CHAPTER TO THEIR HISTORY, WE HOPE YOU WILL FIND IT JUST AS INSPIRING AS WE DID.
