Bleu Frog Vineyards

Bleu Frog Vineyards was born out of a perfect storm of timing, dreaming, hard work, and a little bit of luck. The Kernan family spent over 30 years serving in the United States Navy as true advocates for freedom and patriotism, with the intention of one day planting long-term roots of their own. After retiring in 2014, the quest for a farm life began in Loudoun County, where, as luck would have it, the historic White Stone Farm was posted for sale two years later. The undulating hills, rocky environment, and proximity to Leesburg drew the Kernans in as the ideal location. The property alterations were first inspired by grape cultivation and a healthy lifestyle, but the family soon recognized they could provide more to the community, the grape growers, and the wine makers of Northern Virginia. With the help of the harvest gods, they were able to produce their first wine in 2019, and their vision for the land began to grow. Jan's passion and expertise in the French culinary arts, as well as Joe's longtime service as a 'frogman' in the United States Navy SEAL community, inspired the moniker Bleu Frog. The Kernan family is committed to Veterans Affairs and supports a variety of causes that promote Veteran hiring programs as well as groups that provide long-term, ongoing care for Gold Star families. Dogs, animal rescue, good sportsmanship, and true kindness are also important to them. They both have a sharp wit and believe in balancing enthusiasm and hard work with a healthy dose of humility and belly laugh. The Kernans want you to watch their progress as the farm, grapes, and wines mature, to taste the wines, have some laughs, pet the dogs, and learn more about the topics they care about. Cheers!
