La Taverna, a charming restaurant and bar in Siena, Italy, served as a major source of inspiration for DineAmic Hospitality owners Lucas Stoioff and David Rekhson when they were developing Siena Tavern. The inspiration led to a more polished and expansive version suitable for River North. However, Stoioff and Rekhson still yearned for an Italian bar and restaurant that was more in keeping with their original concept in terms of size and liveliness. Bar Siena was established in Chicago's Fulton Market - West Loop district three years later. A second Bar Siena in Skokie's Westfield Old Orchard Mall was established in 2022.
