Whether you're a visitor or a resident, our parks throughout New Orleans provide a tranquil respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Audubon Park, located in the heart of historic uptown New Orleans, is a popular destination for recreation, picnics, and simply taking in the scenery. For more than a century, people have gathered in this urban oasis, which features avenues of ancient live oaks, a tranquil 1.8-mile jogging path, a lagoon, picnic shelters, and playgrounds, among other amenities. Among the many amenities available at Audubon Park are tennis courts, riding stables, soccer fields, the Whitney Young Pool, the Audubon Clubhouse Café, and the Audubon Golf Club. The park is free to the public. Audubon Park's green spaces remain open to the public, but Audubon Nature Institute is committed to supporting the City and State orders to stay at home and practice physical distancing in the interest of everyone's health and safety in our entire community. Although Audubon security is patrolling the Park, we strongly encourage guests who witness gatherings or behaviors in the Park that are in violation of those orders to call 311 and file a report with the authorities. The playgrounds and workout equipment areas at Audubon Park have reopened as of today. Hand washing and face masks are strongly recommended, and please maintain appropriate social distance. Please keep in mind that Audubon is following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendation that outdoor areas only require normal routine cleaning and not disinfection.
