The magnificent campus of Ashley Hall is located in historic Charleston, South Carolina, one of the friendliest and safest cities in the United States. It's also one of the most popular, having just been awarded Conde Naste Traveler's number one travel destination in the United States for the tenth year in a row, and Travel + Leisure's greatest city in the United States for the eighth year in a row. Ashley Hall has been named the most beautiful private school in South Carolina by Architectural Digest. Ashley Hall's location in downtown Charleston is convenient to cultural and historical sites, shopping, and restaurants, all of which offer a diverse range of weekend activities. The Lowcountry coastal scenery, which glitters on the border of the Atlantic Ocean, offers a plethora of marine forests, marshes, beaches, and rivers ripe for exploration. Built in 1816, the Regency Villa–style McBee House was a private residence until Ashley Hall purchased it in 1909. The school's seashell house, which was once an exotic bird aviary, is a one-of-a-kind feature on the campus. All of the facilities are wheelchair accessible. After school hours, parking is accessible in the Smith Street and Ogier Street lots. Indoors and on the grounds, live music from a band or DJ is permitted. Noise restrictions in the city restricting loud music after 11:00 p.m. must be followed. In all buildings, smoking is forbidden. On campus, there are no cash bars, and alcohol must be removed soon after an event.
