George and Birgit Klause visited Napa Valley to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary and fell in love with the wine lifestyle. They then started looking for a top-notch vineyard. What they ultimately discovered was a little bit of heaven—a stunning 61-acre estate situated in one of the best wine AVAs in the world. The estate, which is perched on a sunny slope above New Melones Reservoir and features lovely vineyards that catch the rising sun, is so stunning that it is highlighted in advertising for the Calaveras County Wine Growers Association. "In 2001, a range of various varietals, including Barbera, Grenache, Chardonnay, Sagrantino (a very uncommon Italian grape), Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Grenache, were planted in our 11-acre award-winning vineyard in the Sierra Foothills. This property's unique location on top of a hill close to a large body of water, with morning fog, summer winds, and mild winters, is similar to the ideal Mediterranean climate and makes it suitable for the growing of grapes. At the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Tasting Competition and numerous other Competitions, our wines have taken home Double Gold and Best in Class awards ". The expansive plan that the Klause had for their lovely property has been realized as of 2022. They gladly offer their lovely estate as a private getaway and gorgeous wedding venue in addition to farming award-winning grapes on it.
