Stephanie Brauer

I approach photography the way I approach life: intuitively with an open heart and free spirit. My imagery is joyful, luminous, and timeless, resulting from spontaneous moments combined with thoughtful, creative direction that elicits natural portraits. My use of color and light in order to evoke intimate, painterly photographs has evolved from a deep love of nature, poetry, and art. My creative process is to open the door to an emotional connection with my couples in order to observe and document their most meaningful memories. There is an energy exchange that happens between us, and when it’s the right fit, we both come away from the experience feeling electrified. Over the last 12+ years, my work has taken me to hundreds of celebrations in eighteen countries. Past clients include high-profile artists and professional athletes. My work has been featured in numerous international publications, including Brides, Martha Stewart Weddings, Elle Mariage Japan, Style Me Pretty, and many more. My clients describe me as being both invisible yet fully present, and my work as being able to “perfectly capture the emotion” and feeling of their wedding day. Having grown up moving all over the world, I now call Connecticut my home. When I'm not working, I can usually be found in an art museum, going for long walks in our backyard forest, making tacos with spicy margaritas, dancing in the living room, or dreaming up my next travel adventure.
