On our two-acre farm on the West Bank of New Orleans, we carefully cultivate flowers that we use in striking and artistic arrangements. As we take great care to honor the seasons and all their fleeting moments of delight and beauty, vegetables, perennials, and native plants frequently find their way into our designs. We honor and celebrate the planet in every aspect of our business, from our organic farming methods to the way we organize our events. Our narrative begins at Mojo Coffee in the Lower Garden District twelve years ago. We first met as two garden teachers looking to chat about our kids, garden design, and composting (yes, that is a real job). Our dreams eventually combined to evolve into those of flowers, farming, and design. Helping others experience the delight of being around plants has become our shared profession. On various urban lots in New Orleans, we maintained this effort by conducting seminars and volunteer days, giving out flowers to passersby, and then collaborating with customers to design events that were specially crafted to the occasion and the business. Our company eventually outgrew the city center, therefore we made the decision to develop a 2 acre farm on the West Bank in 2019. Interplanting, no-tillage, and raised bed composting are similar growing techniques we use on the farm as we did on our earlier, more constrained urban lots, but perhaps more sustainably because we are investing in our own sustainability as well as the sustainability of our soil.
