Nicecream Factory

Nicecream was born in a modest home kitchen as a weekend hobby for two food enthusiasts who shared a passion for cooking. Gil Welsford and Sandra Tran, who met as college sweethearts, like experimenting with new cuisines. A Saturday morning, they came up with the brilliant idea of taking Sandra's ice cream recipes to the next level by freezing her masterpieces in solid liquid nitrogen. They were enthralled by the procedure and the quality of the ice cream that came out of their experiment, so they continued. After a few months of molecular gastronomy experiments, the concept for Nicecream was conceived and developed further. Beginning with farmers markets, the two ice cream carts worked their way into the hearts of ice cream fans all around the District of Columbia. They opened their first business in the Clarendon section of Arlington, Virginia, in 2014, with money they had saved up from their previous jobs. Nicecream has received accolades from CNN, US News and World Report, Food and Wine, and a slew of other national and regional media. Nicecream has expanded to include four ice cream stores since then. Nicecream, which has remained a locally owned and female-run business, has remained committed to its beliefs of using fresh, ethically sourced milk and food, while also spreading its enthusiasm for freshly crafted ice cream throughout the District of Columbia. Nicecream is revolutionizing the way people eat dessert! Our ice cream is made with fresh, locally sourced cream that is supplied weekly from a family creamery, as well as other fresh, locally sourced ingredients and liquid nitrogen. This creates astonishment in the audience, serves as a learning experience, and creates an atmosphere that is both enjoyable and celebratory.
