This family-run vegetarian Indian restaurant was founded in 1999. Bhanuben Chavda, the owner and head chef, was born in India and raised in Africa. In addition to her own recipes from different parts of India, typically from Gujarat, the south, and the north, Bhanu has developed her own cooking techniques. She immigrated to the United States in the early 1990s, and in 1994 she launched a modest home-based catering business. She and her husband Ashokbhai Chavda launched Khasiyat Indian Vegetarian Restaurant in 1999, fulfilling a lifetime desire of hers to run a restaurant. Not to mention that Khasiyat, which means specialty, derives from her unique recipes, which are being enjoyed by countless families across the USA.
