Founded in 2016
When our Chef and Owner, David Gussin, graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, California in 2005, he founded Food First Events & Catering Co. Chef Gussin went on to work in James Beard Award-winning and Michelin-starred kitchens. Chef Gussin's experience includes executive chef positions at some of LA's hottest restaurants, including STK, Fig & Olive, and Cleo, as well as our dedicated sushi chef, who learned under chef Katsuya. These experiences as an executive chef in charge of a team of 50+ chefs and dining captains set Food First Events apart from other catering companies. Since then, Food First Events has worked with a number of well-known celebrities and clients, including Kevin Lee (the well-known wedding planner), True Religion Jeans, the Housewives of Beverly Hills, E! Entertainment, CBRE, Estee Lauder, and others. We look forward to meeting your requirements! - What should the customer know about pricing?
- We have a range of services from wedding receptions with organic ingredients to corporate luncheon drop offs. We work with a range of budgets and styles! We typically work with a $1500 minimum.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
- I love working with new customers! Lets discuss all of your options so we can custom tailor the event to your specific needs, budget and wants!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- 2005 Graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program. 14 years professional experience in fine dining restaurants and catering in Los Angeles and Chicago.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
- It's been a passion of mine since I was a child as I cooked along side my grandmother.
