Alonti Catering Kitchen is a business catering pioneer that places a major emphasis on quality and timely delivery. Our roots can be traced back to the Pepi family's gourmet grocery chain in New York in the early twentieth century. Alonti has continuously pushed out new technologies to respond to our clients' growing needs, from the old world to the new world to the new economy. In 1974, Al and Cecile Pepi, New York gourmet grocery store veterans, launched the first Alonti gourmet sandwich restaurant in their new homeland of Houston. Customers began requesting that tasty sandwiches be delivered to their offices for lunch meetings. We made it happen. Alonti Catering was established. In the next five years, ten additional café sites will open across Houston. By 2007, the volume of catering orders had outgrown the capacity of our retail cafés to accommodate them. Alonti Catering Kitchen was founded by Al Pepi Jr., a second-generation Alonti leader, who launched the first Alonti dedicated entirely to catering.
